The Witches is a children’s fantasy novel by British author Roald Dahl. Published in , the story has been adapted into a stage play, a radio drama, an opera, and a film starring Anjelica Huston, which Dahl hated. In , School Library Journal ranked the book eighty-first among the all-time best children’s books in a survey. This book is great, until the witches speak. At that point the author just screams and shrieks for two hours and my ears couldn’t take it. It was a sad way to experience such a great book. 2 people found this helpful Overall 5 out of 5 stars.
